Reader Profile
Creating this reader profile will help me create a more target appropriate product as seeing my audiences ages, gender and interests is a good insight into what they will want to see in a magazine and to create content that will appeal to them on a deeper level.

Audience questionnaire results
I found the main target audience for my magazine will be between 16 - 25 years old and most would be willing to pay £3-4 for the magazine. The main colours liked were red, black and white. Most will buy a magazine because it features celebrities, special offers and because they like the colour scheme. 46 out of 50 bought magazines and the main genre liked was rock, followed by pun and then rap. The most common interests were listening to music and reading either books or magazines.

Colour Research
The colours that I am going to use for all of my tasks are Black, White and Red, The red I have chosen is a darker shade (Photoshop colour code 164:0:0) I chose this as I did not want it to be to bright on the page as it would contrast too much against the other colours where as the darker shade is a more subtle tone and will contrast nicely.
My reason for choosing these 3 colours is because after researching multiple magazines I found that most use a house style of 3 - 4 colours as any more than this would be too much. Looking more specifically to the rock genre I found that a lot of them used this colour scheme or a similar one and me using this would be good as it will appeal to my target audience as something that is familiar to them.

AS Reflection
Strengths
-
The font of the masthead is suitable for the genre as it is commonly
used within it and this allows for it to be recognised by the target
audience.
-
I used yellow, red and black as they are colours that contrast each
other and make the cover stand out, they are also colours typical of the
genre.
- The sub image is made with a yellow background that connects it to the story and makes it look professional.
- I edited the main image so that it did not have any sharp edges and it had a ghosted effect behind the main text.
-
I made the contents page with a simple and organised layout so that it
was easy as possible for the readers to find what they want.
-
On the DPS I used white text on the dark background so that it was easy
to read, I used red for the title and the questions so that it fit in
with the house style and had the main image looking at the text so that
it suggested the reader should too.
Weaknesses
- There is a lot of blank space on the cover.
- The main story has gaps between the band name and the text on yellow.
- The images on the contents page are not very good quality and could have been improved.
- The main image could be more interesting than it is.
- I feel that I could have made the editing on the image a lot sharper so that it looked more professional.
Skills
- Through the year I have developed many skills including Photoshop, Blogger and Powtoon.
- On Photoshop I learned a lot of new skills, I learned to edit pictures well and make them look professional and smooth the image.
- I learned how to use Blogger to create my AS blog as well as this one and learned to edit the layout and design to get the colours right and make it look good.
- I learned to use Powtoon to make creative presentations that stand out and have an interactive element.
